This is a blog created to record our family's roller coaster ride of a life. In this blog you will read about everyday life with us. You will learn that Lilly loves cheer and Trev is ALL BOY! We are quite the busy family. Besides Lilly's cheer practice that goes on 4 times a week (3 hours each day) we also take Master T to 2 soccer practices a week & one soccer game each weekend. How do we find time to throw the parties & get togethers that we have each month, or do homework, or clean the house, or grocery shop, or just spend time together, you may ask. Skill, people. It is a balancing act.

Thinking about Lilly & Yoga practice

I wanted to write about Lilly. She is on my mind all of the time. I actually have a hard time sleeping at night because I think about her and her hair loss. Tonight is one of those miserable nights. I am at the point with this Alopecia disease, where I want it to be something else. I want her hair loss to be a symptom of something else, hopefully something else that can be easily fixed or cured. I have been thinking about all of her ailments throughout her short little life, trying to piece something together. Searching the web for answers. I am so frustrated.
The list of things, oddities if you will, of Lilly's physical health are as follows:
When she was about 9 months she got a knot under her chin-swollen lymph node & to this day it is still swollen.
She lost the top layer of all of her finger and toe nails last year. On top of that her toe nails are shaped differently. Most of them all curve downward.
Of course, her hair loss started when she was 4.
More recently she has complained of being hot. She gets hot in the house and hot out of the house. She gets so hot and red when she is outside playing in 70 degree weather and she has only been outside for less than 30 minutes. It doesn't seem right. Maybe she is just naturally hot.
Maybe all of these things are normal and I just need to accept my daughter is going bald. I am going to make, yet another appointment for Lilly to see the doc.
Well to lighten things up a bit.... Lilly has been taking yoga classes with me. She really loves yoga. We go to the class for 1 hour on Monday and Friday. Today she got a bit fidgety after taking Urdhva Dhanurasanan or the full wheel. Which I need to add, she is awesome at this pose. Her stamina in this pose is so unreal!!! She just looks so natural in the pose. So after that she was ready to go to the "kids room".
I hope that by introducing my children to yoga and the philosophy of yoga they will gain and maintain excellent health in their minds, body, and spirit. Namaste.
