This is a blog created to record our family's roller coaster ride of a life. In this blog you will read about everyday life with us. You will learn that Lilly loves cheer and Trev is ALL BOY! We are quite the busy family. Besides Lilly's cheer practice that goes on 4 times a week (3 hours each day) we also take Master T to 2 soccer practices a week & one soccer game each weekend. How do we find time to throw the parties & get togethers that we have each month, or do homework, or clean the house, or grocery shop, or just spend time together, you may ask. Skill, people. It is a balancing act.

Sunset Beach Getaway

Last Saturday and Sunday Alex and Jeremy invited us to spend the night with them at their vacation rental at Sunset Beach, NC. We kicked the evening off with exploring on the pier. It was a really nice private pier with a floating dock. Then we had burgers and dogs, cooked by Paps and Big Daddy Neal. Yum Yum. Later that evening we walked to the beach to fly kites. After the children went to bed, we played Catch Phrase & Phase 10. We stayed up until 1:30!!!! On Sunday, Jeremy cooked a wonderful breakfast (one that I requested because he is so good at cooking biscuits and gravy). While he cooked, I went for a run/walk. It was nice to spend some alone time with myself:) After breakfast, we went down to the pier to catch some crabs. We caught 2 crabs that were really feisty. Then Trev dropped the crab net into the water, so we went to the beach. There was a tide pool and we found hermit crabs, a starfish, a crab, a big clam, & broken sand dollars!!! Lilly did a great job of keeping her cast dry and sandless. And she was very confident, as she wore no head covering. I was very proud of her.
We went back to the beach house and got cleaned up and then Trev & I walked to the pier. The tide went out, so we found the crab net and checked out all of the oysters. Lots of fun was had by all. Thanks Uncle Alex and Uncle Jeremy for planning such a fun, simple, inexpensive trip for our family.
